Nicholson Round Chainsaw File 3/16 In. x 8 In. is an American pattern round chainsaw file. It has a round shape and a smooth cut. The height between cutting teeth and depth gauge is between .020 in. to .030 in. Tighten the tension on chainsaw chain to firmly support the cutters when filing. File from inside to outside of the cutter. Place the file against beveled cutting surface of teeth 20° to 45° with the saw. Sharpen all left hand cutters on one side of the chain and file all the right hand cutters. Check the depth gauge height after every 2 or 3 sharpenings.
